SGMY’s Review of The Dragon Chamber Singapore
I recently went to The Dragon Chamber Singapore and tried some of their unique dishes. I really enjoyed the Truffle Vege Dumplings. They were full of flavor from the truffle vegetables and tasted great with the dark vinegar, chili oil, and Szechuan sauce.
The Cheeseburger Rolls were also a treat. The crispy egg roll skin was filled with tasty ground beef and melted cheese.
If you like a mix of spicy and sweet, you have to try the Firecracker Chicken and Maple Fritters. The deep-fried chicken with dried chilies, cashews, and Szechuan peppercorns was perfect with the maple syrup-baked “you tiao” fritters.
The XO Red Coral Trout was another favorite. The red coral trout fillets were stir-fried in XO sauce with sweet peas and celery, and the crispy fried bones added a nice crunch.
The Tea-Smoked Chicken was amazing too. Smoked with pu-er tea, it came with three tasty condiments. I also loved the Flaming Pineapple Beef. The beef was braised in a pineapple five-spice gravy and served in a flaming pineapple, making it both unique and flavorful.
For dessert, the Mango Sago with Pomelo was refreshing and sweet. It had mango purée, sago, pomelo pulp, and diced strawberries. But I found the Golden Fried Mapo Tofu a bit disappointing. The crispy fried tofu slabs topped with Chengdu-style minced pork Mapo sauce didn’t have as much flavor as I expected.
Overall, The Dragon Chamber has some great and creative dishes. I think it’s worth trying if you’re looking for something different and tasty.
