SGMY’s Review of Indian Wok
Indian Wok is a delightful spot in Singapore if you’re craving some tasty Indo-Chinese cuisine. I recently visited and tried a variety of dishes, and here’s my experience.
I started with the Golden Fried Prawns, and they were absolutely delicious. The prawns were perfectly marinated and fried to a golden crisp. They were flavorful and had a satisfying crunch with every bite.
Another fantastic starter was the Drums of Heaven. These juicy chicken wings, deep-fried and served with chili garlic sauce, were simply heavenly. The sauce added a perfect spicy kick that I loved.
For the main course, the Chilli Chicken stood out. It’s one of India’s most famous chicken dishes, and Indian Wok did not disappoint. The boneless chicken was tender and cooked just right with fresh hot green chilies, garlic, onion, and spring onion in soy sauce. It was spicy, savory, and incredibly delicious.
The Kung Po Prawns were another highlight. Cooked with cashew nuts and vegetables in light soy sauce, the prawns were succulent and paired well with the crunchy nuts. It was a delightful mix of textures and flavors.
However, I did try the Crispy Fried Five Spiced Chicken and found it a bit too dry for my liking. The chicken, though well-flavored, lacked the juiciness that I was expecting. It was a minor letdown compared to the other stellar dishes.
The Sizzling Brownie from their dessert menu is a must-try. Served on a hot plate with chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream, it was the perfect end to a wonderful meal. The combination of warm brownie and cold ice cream was just divine.
Overall, Indian Wok offers a fantastic variety of dishes that are mostly hits. It’s a great place to enjoy flavorful Indo-Chinese cuisine with some standout dishes and a few minor misses.
