SGMY’s Review Of Swee Choon Singapore

If you’re in Singapore and craving dim sum, Swee Choon is the place to go! Their Shanghai Xiao Long Bao is amazing. The dumplings are juicy and have a delicate skin that is just right.

I also love their Salted Egg Yolk Custard Bao, especially when fried. The crispy outside and creamy, sweet custard inside make a perfect combo.

The Pan Fried Pork Dumplings are another favorite. They are full of savory flavors and have a nice crispy bottom.

The Siew Mai is a classic that doesn’t disappoint. It’s flavorful and juicy, just how I like it. For something sweet, the Portuguese Egg Tarts are a treat. The flaky pastry and creamy custard filling are simply delicious.

If you’re in the mood for something more filling, the BBQ Pork Rice is a comforting dish with rich, smoky flavors. Another standout is the Har Gow. The prawn filling is fresh and tasty, wrapped in a soft, chewy skin.

However, not everything was perfect for me. The Pandan Bao was a bit of a letdown. The bao was soft and fluffy, but the filling was too sweet and didn’t have the pandan taste I was hoping for.

The Chicken Claw also didn’t quite meet my expectations. It was tender, but the seasoning was too mild, making it less flavorful than I expected.

Overall, Swee Choon offers a great variety of dim sum that satisfies most cravings. The highlights certainly outweigh the few misses, making it a place worth visiting again and again.

Whether you’re there for the classics or trying something new, there’s always something tasty waiting for you at Swee Choon.
