SGMY’s Review of Papa Ayam Singapore
I recently tried out Papa Ayam Singapore, and I must say, it’s a great spot if you’re into bold, spicy flavors. Their Ayam Geprek Original is a winner for anyone who loves some serious heat. You can choose your sambal spiciness level, which adds a nice personal touch. The chicken is crispy on the outside and tender inside, perfectly paired with fragrant rice.
The Sambal Matah version is another favorite of mine. It has this refreshing mix of onions, lemon grass, and chili that brightens up the whole dish. The sambal is zesty and fresh, and it’s a nice twist on the traditional sambal.
The Ayam Geprek Indomie is something I couldn’t resist. The combination of crispy chicken and everyone’s favorite Indomie noodles is just so comforting. I loved how the savory noodles complemented the crispy chicken.
However, the Ayam Geprek Salted Egg didn’t quite hit the mark for me. The salted egg sauce was a bit too heavy, and it overpowered the taste of the chicken. If you’re a fan of rich, creamy sauces, you might enjoy it, but I found it a bit overwhelming.
One more dish I have to mention is the Papa Ayam Platter. It’s perfect for sharing with friends, offering a variety of sambals and sides like crispy chicken skin and satay. It’s a feast that lets you sample a bit of everything, and it’s definitely worth trying if you’re in a group.
Overall, Papa Ayam delivers on flavor, with only a minor hiccup on the salted egg front.
