SGMY’s Review of Neon Pigeon Singapore
Neon Pigeon is a real gem for anyone looking for a unique take on Japanese-inspired dishes. I recently visited and left super impressed with their creative combinations and bold flavors. One of my absolute favorites has to be the Tempura Prawn Roll. It’s crispy, creamy, and topped with fresh ikura that adds a pop of flavor with every bite.
I also loved the Salmon Mentai Roll—it has a smooth creaminess that pairs perfectly with the cucumber crunch.
If you’re into seafood, the Burnt Butter Scallops are a must-try. The scallops are perfectly seared, and the burnt butter miso sauce gives it that extra depth that makes you go back for more. The Chu Toro Tataki is another hit with its smoky dressing and refreshing onion and wakame.
The Wagyu Katsu Sando really stood out too—the tender, melt-in-your-mouth wagyu beef combined with curry mayo was pure comfort food.
But not every dish hit the mark for me. The Grilled Tsukune (minced chicken meatball) was a bit underwhelming. It was a tad dry, and I found the flavors quite one-dimensional. It didn’t have the juiciness I was expecting, and the egg yolk dipping sauce didn’t quite elevate it.
Overall though, Neon Pigeon nails it with their unique flavors and vibrant dishes. The variety and creativity keep me wanting to try more from their menu.
If you’re looking for something different and exciting, it’s definitely worth a visit! Just a heads-up, some items might not wow you, but most of the dishes will have you coming back for more.
