SGMY’s Review of Fat Po Singapore
I recently went to Fat Po, and I must say, it’s a pretty solid spot for comfort food with a twist. One of my favorites was the Honey Grilled Chicken Set. The chicken is tender and well-marinated, with just the right sweetness. The sides I picked – mashed potatoes and warm veggies – were a great match.
The Crispy Chicken Cutlet was another winner. It’s got a golden, crispy crust while still being juicy inside, and I think it’s a safe bet for anyone who enjoys fried chicken.
For noodle lovers, the Chicken Chop Laksa is a must-try. The laksa broth is rich, and they didn’t hold back on the spices. Plus, the fried chicken chop adds a nice contrast to the smooth, creamy soup.
Another highlight for me was the Lychee Pork Balls. The combination of sweet lychee and savory pork was something different, but it worked really well – definitely something I’d order again.
However, not everything hit the mark for me. I tried the Hokkien Vongole, and while I liked the fresh clams, the overall flavor didn’t quite pop as much as I expected. The noodle was a bit too bland, and the seasoning could’ve been stronger.
On the side, their HCG Wings were crispy and packed with flavor, especially with the belacan chilli, which added a nice spicy kick. The desserts didn’t disappoint either.
The Choco Fudge Cake was rich and moist – perfect for anyone with a sweet tooth.
Overall, Fat Po delivers on most of their dishes with unique flavors and hearty portions. It’s definitely a place I’d return to for the variety and those crispy wings!
