SGMY’s Review of Min Jiang at Dempsey Singapore
If you’re looking for a mix of traditional and unique flavors, Min Jiang at Dempsey is a spot you should try. The Legendary Wood-fired Beijing Duck really stands out. The crispy skin with tender meat wrapped in soft homemade crepes is simply delicious.
I also enjoyed the Crispy Eel coated with Vinegar Sauce and Sesame Seeds. It’s crunchy, tangy, and has just the right amount of sweetness.
Another dish that impressed me was the Black Truffle-braised Whole African Abalone. It’s luxurious and melts in your mouth, with the truffle adding a deep, earthy flavor.
If you’re after something lighter, the Chilled Drunken Chicken in Min Jiang-style is refreshing and perfectly marinated. It makes a great starter.
However, not everything was perfect. The Braised Fish Maw Soup with Crabmeat and Dried Scallops didn’t quite hit the mark for me. While the ingredients were fresh, the soup lacked the rich, hearty flavor I was expecting. It wasn’t bad, but it could have been more satisfying.
On a brighter note, the Sautéed Beef Cubes with Black Pepper Sauce was a hit. The beef was tender, and the pepper sauce had just the right amount of spice.
For dessert lovers, the Chilled Blue Pea Lemongrass Jelly with Lime Sorbet is a must-try. It’s light, zesty, and the perfect way to end the meal.
Overall, Min Jiang at Dempsey offers a delightful dining experience with a variety of dishes to suit different tastes.
