SGMY’s Review of Meokja Cafe Malaysia

If you’re a fan of Korean food, this place offers a variety of classic and fusion dishes that are sure to impress.

One of my favorites was the cheese tteokbokki. The soft rice cakes are covered in rich, melted mozzarella cheese, which adds a comforting creaminess to the dish. It’s a perfect choice if you love cheesy flavors with a slight kick of spice.

Another highlight is the beef bulgogi kimbap. It’s light but filling, with a great mix of minced beef and crunchy veggies wrapped in seaweed—definitely a satisfying snack or meal.

For something different, the carbonara tteokbokki is an interesting twist on the classic dish. The creamy sauce combined with fish cakes and chicken sausage works surprisingly well, creating a comforting yet flavorful experience.

The dakgalbi bibimbap also stands out, offering a delicious mix of stir-fried spicy chicken, rice, and banchan (side dishes). It’s a colorful, hearty meal that hits all the right notes.

If you’re looking for something with a bit more heat, try the buldak mandu carbonara tteokbokki. The spicy buldak mandu (dumplings) add a fiery kick, but the creamy sauce helps balance the heat, making it enjoyable without being overwhelming.

While the dishes are mostly impressive, I feel some of the rice cakes could be a little softer. They were a bit too chewy for my liking in some dishes.

But overall, the flavors and combinations are creative and delicious, and there’s something for everyone on the menu. It’s definitely worth trying if you’re craving authentic and fusion Korean food!
