SGMY’s Review of Daruma Tavern Singapore
I recently had a great meal at Daruma Tavern, a cozy spot in Singapore known for its mix of Thai, Japanese, and local dishes.
I must say, the Mama Tom Yum was the star of the meal. It was packed with prawns, squids, mussels, and other seafood, all simmered in a spicy, tangy broth that was just perfect.
If you love noodles, their Thai Style Wanton Mee is a must-try. The noodles were springy, and the BBQ pork was nicely grilled with a hint of sweetness that complemented the dark sauce well.
For a lighter option, I tried the Mentaiko Salmon Don. The salmon was perfectly torched and topped with a creamy mentaiko sauce, which added a lovely, rich flavor.
I also loved the Garlicky Crispy Pork—it was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. This dish is perfect for sharing with friends.
However, not everything was perfect. The Prawns Aglio e Olio could have been better. While the prawns were fresh and juicy, the pasta was a bit bland, lacking the usual punch of garlic and chili that I was expecting. But, honestly, this is just a minor setback in an otherwise delightful experience.
To end the meal, we had the Mentaiko Fries, which were topped with mentaiko sauce and nori. They were simply addictive—crispy and full of flavor!
Overall, Daruma Tavern offers a great mix of dishes that cater to different tastes. It’s a great place to chill with friends and enjoy a variety of good food.
