SGMY’s Review of Saboten Singapore
If you’re a fan of Japanese katsu, then Saboten Singapore is definitely a place you’ll want to visit. I recently dropped by and tried a few items from their menu, and I must say, I was quite impressed!
First up, the Saboten Special stole the show. It includes a juicy half loin katsu, crispy fried shrimp, and a crab cream croquette that was oh-so-decadent. The combination of textures and flavors made it a satisfying meal.
I also loved the Nigiwa Loin Katsu Gozen, which came with two appetizers, imported Japanese rice, miso soup, and even ice cream! The loin katsu was tender and had a lovely crunch.
Another highlight was the Cheese Tenderloin & Loin Katsu. The cheesy goodness oozing out of the tenderloin was a delight, and it paired beautifully with the miso soup. It felt indulgent and comforting all at once!
However, I did try the Chicken Katsu Supreme, and I found it a bit bland compared to the other dishes. While it was still crispy and nicely cooked, it could use a bit more seasoning to bring out the flavors.
To finish off, I ordered the Ebi Karaage. These crispy fried shrimp were a perfect snack, seasoned just right, making them hard to resist!
Overall, Saboten is a great spot for katsu lovers. The variety and quality of the dishes really shine, making it a place I’d love to return to. Just make sure to try the specials!
