SGMY’s Review Of Penang Place Singapore
If you’re looking for a taste of Penang in Singapore, Penang Place is definitely worth a visit. Their menu is packed with delicious options that’ll make you feel like you’ve just stepped into a vibrant street market in Penang.
First up, the Penang Char Kway Teow is a standout. The flat noodles are perfectly stir-fried with juicy prawns and a savory sauce. It’s rich in flavor and totally satisfying. If you’re a fan of noodle dishes, this one will definitely hit the spot.
The Penang Assam Laksa is another favorite of mine. The spicy and tangy tamarind fish broth is full of fresh vegetables and packed with flavor. It’s a must-try if you enjoy a bit of spice.
For something comforting, the Penang Hokkien Mee is a winner. The noodles are cooked in a flavorful prawn broth and are simply delightful.
I also highly recommend the Nasi Lemak with Chicken Cutlet. The fragrant coconut rice with a crispy chicken cutlet is a perfect combo, and the sambal adds just the right amount of heat.
The Salted Egg Fried Chicken is a guilty pleasure. The crispy chicken coated in salted egg sauce is incredibly tasty, though a bit rich if you’re not a fan of salted egg.
Lastly, for dessert, the Chendol is a refreshing treat. The shaved ice with coconut milk and gula melaka is sweet and satisfying.
However, I found the Fried Chempedak a bit underwhelming. While the outside was crispy, the inside didn’t have much flavor, so it didn’t quite live up to my expectations.
Overall, though, Penang Place offers a great array of dishes that will definitely please most palates!
