SGMY’s Review of Kyoto Shokudo Singapore
Kyoto Shokudo is a fantastic spot for anyone craving Japanese comfort food in Singapore. I recently visited and tried several dishes that truly impressed me.
First up, the Braised Iberico Pork Belly Donburi stole the show! The pork was so tender and juicy, and the yakiniku sauce was rich and flavorful. It paired perfectly with the side of vegetable salad and miso soup, making it a complete meal.
I also loved the Minced Toro and Onsen Tamago Donburi. The creamy egg and rich toro combined to create a delightful flavor explosion in every bite.
The Hokkaido Diced Sashimi Donburi was another highlight. The sashimi was incredibly fresh, and I appreciated the generous portions. If you’re a fan of seafood, this one is a must-try!
The Wild Mushroom and Beef Stone Pot Rice had a comforting taste, with the mushrooms adding a nice earthy flavor. I found myself going back for seconds!
However, I felt a bit let down by the Salt Grilled Mackerel. While it was cooked well, the seasoning was a little too mild for my taste. I was hoping for a bolder flavor to really bring out the fish’s natural taste.
Lastly, the Teriyaki Chicken Steak Udon was a winner too. The chicken was juicy, and the udon absorbed the delicious broth nicely.
Overall, Kyoto Shokudo is a great place to indulge in hearty Japanese dishes, and I can’t wait to go back and try more!
