SGMY’s Review of Cloudstreet Singapore
I recently tried the tasting menu at Cloudstreet, and I must say, the experience was memorable! The dishes are creative and packed with flavor. I loved the Grilled Oyster with Coconut and Finger Lime—it was fresh, zesty, and had a wonderful balance of textures. The Sri Lankan Curry of Marron was another highlight. The marron was perfectly cooked, and the rich coconut broth was so aromatic that I couldn’t stop sipping it.
The Tochigi A4 Wagyu with Bell Pepper and Fermented Soy was incredibly tender, and each bite melted in my mouth. The wagyu’s richness paired well with the soy’s umami flavor. Dessert was just as impressive. The Popcorn Pannacotta with Laksa Leaf Ice Cream was a surprising favorite. The creamy pannacotta and the unique twist of laksa ice cream created a fun balance of sweet and savory.
However, not every dish hit the mark for me. The Beeswax Aged Pigeon with Fig and Madeira Jus had a nice presentation, but I found the pigeon a bit too gamey for my taste. The fig tried to balance it, but the flavors didn’t quite come together for me.
Overall, Cloudstreet’s menu is a delightful journey of bold and innovative flavors. Most of the dishes wowed me, and it’s clear the chefs have a talent for pairing unexpected ingredients. I would recommend it to anyone who loves adventurous dining with a local twist. Just keep an open mind for some of the more unique dishes!
