SGMY’s Review of Bara Food Singapore
If you’re craving Indonesian food, Bara Food is a must-visit! I recently had the chance to dig into their menu, and let me tell you, it was a treat for my taste buds.
First up, I tried the Gado Gado. This mixed salad with peanut dressing was so refreshing! The crunchiness of the vegetables, paired with that creamy sauce, made every bite delightful.
I also couldn’t get enough of the Sambal Udang Kentang—the prawns and potatoes stir-fried in sambal balado were bursting with flavor. Just the right amount of heat made it a perfect dish for spice lovers like me.
Then, I had the Ayam Bakar Bara, which is grilled chicken coated in a sweet glaze. It was absolutely delicious! The chicken was juicy and tender, and the sweet-savory combination was spot on.
The Cumi Goreng Tepung (crispy fried squid) was another highlight. I loved its light batter that made it so easy to munch on.
However, I did find the Soto Betawi a bit underwhelming. While it had a rich broth, I felt it lacked the robust flavor I was hoping for. It was nice, but not as memorable as the other dishes.
Lastly, I must mention the Nasi Bakar. The grilled rice wrapped in banana leaves had a lovely aroma and paired beautifully with the dishes.
Overall, my experience at Bara Food was fantastic, with most dishes hitting the mark. I can’t wait to return and try more!
